Dear Families,
The holiday season means traditions, and Cedar Creek staff would like to bring back two holiday traditions that the school has celebrated in the past–
A Week of Christmas Concerts and Waiting for Santa Day.
During the last week of school before the holidays, we will be having five Christmas concerts! That’s one each day, allowing each class an opportunity to perform ‘a little holiday cheer’ and giving us all a chance to sing some of our favourite Christmas carols and songs too. The concerts will take place Monday, Dec. 14 to Friday, Dec. 18th. We hope that you will be able to join us for one or all of these festive events.
Many of our staff and students have fond memories of Waiting for Santa Day! It’s a great way to celebrate the last day of school. What does Waiting for Santa mean to you and your family? At Cedar Creek it means being in your pyjamas and slippers, with your favourite stuffed toy and storybook, and best of all having a cookie and milk while you wait for Santa to come. So on Friday the 18th, we are asking the students to wear their pjs and slippers and bring in a stuffed toy and book. As a school, we will take some time in the afternoon to sit down and enjoy some great books and some cookies and milk too-just like we were waiting for Santa to come on Christmas Eve. Don’t worry, the school will purchase the cookies to ensure they are peanut free so all our students can enjoy this special activity. (We will provide the milk too!)
We are looking forward to this week of ‘holiday cheer’, and we would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a safe and happy Christmas season.

The school is holding a Food Drive from Dec. 7th to 11th.
We are also setting up a tree as part of the Township’s Christmas Tree Festival in Centennial Park. We would like to cover our tree with hats, mitts and scarves to be donated to Neighbours Helping Neighbours. The tree will be decorated on Dec. 10th. Please send any donations of food or hats, etc. to school with your child.
